Car storage facility and associated offices

Autohorn provides contract fleet management services to large organisations throughout the UK, including; Nestlé, the Army, Network Rail, and Persimmon.  The company also manages a high volume of supply and storage arrangements for the majority of local dealerships, including; Mercedes, BMW, VW, Volvo, Toyota, Skoda and Audi. 

Due to continued expansion, the company required a car storage facility in York for 2,000 cars. The optimal site was found at Clifton Moor on the northern outskirts in the Green Belt.  Working closely with the client, York City Council and consultant team over an extended period submitting a Hybrid application with for full planning for demolition of existing buildings and change of use to allow car storage and outline planning consent for an office building.

As the site was a Green Belt location O'Neill Associates demonstrated a very special circumstance to justify the scheme.

Panning consent was granted in April 2017.
